Select the one you want to move below. If you have another home, you can move your Nest products between them. When you physically move them to their new home, you also need to move them in the app. Scan the QR code printed on the back of your Protect. The app shows you how to connect your Protect and install it. If you have Nest Secure and want more people to share access to your home, you can give them Tags for easy entry and exit so you don't have to share your passcode.

A wired camera to see who's inside, lights on or off. A battery-powered camera that goes just about anywhere. Choose wired or battery-powered, indoor or outdoor. There’s even a Nest Cam with a floodlight to boost security. Get alerts just for things you care about, like people, vehicles, and animals. You can also set Activity Zones that cover only the areas you want to be notified about.

If you don’t see the 30-day trial option, you may have already used one before — or it may no longer be available. If that’s the case, select the option to start Nest Aware. Google Home will walk you through the remaining steps one by one. That will also include a brief explainer of the available subscription options.
Review the person’s access to your home tap Send. If asked, tap the room you want to move the device to Next. All orders that ship free use the lowest-cost option unless otherwise noted.

Last year, Google refreshed the Nest camera lineup for the first time in several years, but it also came with a change on the software side of things. The Google Home app is supposed to replace the Nest app, but the transition period has been a maddening limbo. Nearly a year later, virtually nothing has changed on that front either.

This feature is dependent upon network connectivity and other factors, and may not be available in all areas. Wireless devices may not be reliable for emergency communications. The 911 feature can connect you with the call center closest to the home address you provide during setup. Now, getting to Nest Aware in the Nest app is easier still. Although, as noted above, if you’re signing up via the Nest app and you also use Google Home or another app for managing your smart home, you’ll want to use the same account across the board.
There’s a spinning ring or blank sign-in screen
Alternatively, you can unlink and link the speaker again, or reset the device and start from scratch. Review what’s shared when you join a home tap Agree. Follow the in-app instructions to join someone’s home. Some product imagery includes footage simulated to reflect on-device user experience.

You can create a new home, create a new room, or add your devices to an existing room. You can add each device to one room only. To complete the setup, follow the in-app steps. When it comes down to it, you want to look at safety first when installing the system. This is important whenever dealing with electricity.
Nearly a year later, the Google Home app has made no progress in cleaning up its Nest disaster
You should find information about what’s shared when you add someone to your home. If your Google Family Group isn’t full and the person you’re inviting isn’t already in one, you should get the option to invite them to your Google Family Group. Review what’s shared when you add someone to your home tap Next. Enter the name or email address of the person you want to invite to your home tap Next. Personalized features require additional enrollment and setup.
Then, the first place you should look for Nest Aware is among the “chips” at the top of the page. Those are highlighted in the images below. But, summarily, “chips” are Google’s branding for the pictured oval-surrounded options. Now, the benefits of a Nest Aware subscription are still there, regardless of which camera-enabled device you happen to own. Of course, there are also differences that bring fewer or more benefits based on which devices you have. For instance, the latest battery-powered devices don’t support 24/7 video recording.
But the older devices and future Nest cameras will. The next time you connect to the home’s Wi-Fi, open the Home app to finish Google Assistant setup, which adds you to the devices connected to the same Wi-Fi. So I had a nest thermostat installed, and it's all fine on the nest app, however I wanted it to then connect to my google home so everything is all in one place.

Some of them run into issues, too, even though they don’t have much to do with Google or Google Home app, at all. They managed to address the problem by disabling the Cast integration. They no longer have access to Nest Aware features, including video history.
After you connect your smart devices in the Google Home app, you can use the Google Home app to control them. If you have a Google Nest or Home speaker or display, you can also use voice commands to control your smart devices. Google told us last August that it was “working on bringing the full functionality” of older Nest products to the Home app. Obviously, that still hasn’t happened.

Select Info for more information on what will be shared Allow. Select the Google Account you want to use in the Nest app, or select Use another account if you have an existing account that’s not listed. If you log in to the Google Home app with the same login as the Nest app, the thermostat will be there. You don’t add it separately to the Google Home app. Remember, you can also scroll horizontally through the chips if you don’t see the Nest Aware option available on the first page. But, if the option still doesn’t show up, you’ll need to select “Settings” instead.
You can only check and control products in one home at a time with the Nest app. If you have more than one home in the app, you need to switch between them. While you won’t need a Nest app account to use all Nest products, you’ll need one to access and control your Energy, Safety and Security products with the Nest app.
Assistant devices such as speakers and displays, including those set up by the removed member, should remain in your home. These devices are no longer linked to the home member you removed. You no longer have access to Nest Aware features, including video history.
